240Hz: Diminishing Returns, Real But Narrow Benefit

240Hz genuinely reduces input-to-display latency further, from 6.9ms down to 4.2ms, a real 2.7ms improvement that matters in top-tier competitive shooters like CS2, Valorant, and Apex Legends. In one 2024 survey of professional CS2 players, 65% used 240Hz displays and 25% used 360Hz, with virtually none competing on 144Hz or lower, which tells you where the serious competitive scene has settled. For most casual players, though, the difference from 144Hz is subtle enough that it’s often only apparent in direct side-by-side comparison.

The Critical Catch: Your GPU Has to Keep Up

A monitor can only show what your GPU actually delivers.
